EHS Specialist – Field Service Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Ensure adherence to EHS policies, programs, and procedures within Field Services Operations.

• Engage in the creation and enhancement of EHS programs tailored for FSO.

• Conduct yearly EHS training sessions, audits, and inspections.

• Offer suggestions for ongoing improvements in safety performance and organizational culture.

• Keep personnel and employees updated on safe working procedures and practices.

• Oversee necessary compliance activities and enforce Invenergy EHS standards.

• Evaluate workplace and job-site risks while identifying potential hazards.

• Support the application of Invenergy standards and procedures across various sites.

• Lead investigations into incidents and significant near-miss occurrences, including required EHS management-system documentation.

• Carry out inspections and yearly OSHA compliance audits, tracking and documenting corrective actions.

• Complete, document, and submit EHS reports along with recordkeeping information.

• Provide training on EHS policies and programs.

• Ensure the appropriate use of the 3E SDS management system.

• Relay updates on injury and illness awareness, along with mitigation strategies.

• Build rapport with personnel through site visits and FSO conference calls.

• Meet regularly with FSO Directors and Managers to discuss EHS issues related to equipment replacement, blade repair, and technical support teams.

• Provide expertise in the Intelex EHS Management system for the FSO team.

• Manage documentation related to EHS initiatives and temporary programs such as safety stand-downs, Safety Alerts, and Bulletins.

• Perform additional EHS-related responsibilities as directed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Technical/University degree or equivalent experience, OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Wind industry.

• Preferred experience in maintaining or replacing major component equipment in wind energy generation.

• Up to 60% travel may be required.

• Must be able to pass fit testing and pulmonary function testing to utilize a cartridge respirator.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet-based reporting tools.

• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, oral, and written communication skills.

• Capability to prepare precise reports with findings and recommendations.

• Ability to perform various tasks accurately and swiftly in high-stress situations.

• Strong time-management, multitasking, and independent problem-solving skills.

• Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

• Able to climb ladders independently and work at heights exceeding 80 meters (250 feet).

• Must be able to lift and manipulate weights up to 50 pounds.

• Weight must not exceed 129 kg (285 lbs.) excluding any worn equipment/gear while climbing.

• Must be willing to travel nationally, occasionally with little advance notice.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship currently or in the future.

• This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment drug testing, with a negative result required prior to starting.
