EHS Project Manager – HVDC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• The Project EHS Manager HVDC (m/f/d) serves as GE Vernova’s primary representative for Environment, Health & Safety during the planning and execution phases of a German HVDC project and acts as the main HVDC liaison for our client.

• This role is accountable for establishing and overseeing all EHS elements within the project framework, ensuring adherence to relevant legal, customer, and GE Vernova standards, while fostering a robust safety culture throughout the project.

• The Project EHS Manager collaborates closely with project leadership, site EHS managers, and the EHS teams of our consortium partners and subcontractors to mitigate injuries, manage risks, safeguard the environment, enhance the health of all project participants, and ensure the rigorous application of project EHS plans, procedures, and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, or a technical/vocational qualification coupled with significant relevant professional EHS experience.

• A recognized qualification as Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (Safety Specialist) in accordance with German regulations (DGUV) as well as SiGeKo.

• Demonstrated experience in a leadership EHS capacity, preferably within construction, installation, or industrial project settings, particularly in high-voltage (HV) electrical environments.

• Comprehensive understanding of German occupational health & safety and environmental laws, alongside environmental management practices on construction sites and permit-to-work/control-of-work systems.

• Experience working on multinational projects and in diverse work environments.

• Proficiency in German (both spoken and written).

• Competent in English (both spoken and written), including the capability to create documentation, reports, and training materials in both languages.

• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with EHS management systems and digital EHS tools is a plus.
