Educator – Casual

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Establish a welcoming, safe, and inclusive playgroup atmosphere that promotes positive engagement from both children and their families.

• Assist the Lead Educator in planning and executing playgroup sessions, participating in topic discussions, and sharing pertinent information with families.

• Provide inclusive group experiences that are in line with Playgroup NSW principles and program expectations.

• Maintain a high standard of care by promptly identifying and reporting hazards, incidents, and injuries according to established procedures.

• Aid in session preparation and clean-up, ensuring that environments and practices are consistent with the EYLF, AEDC, and Playgroup NSW frameworks.

• Adhere to child-safe practices and respond appropriately to any safety or wellbeing concerns.

• Encourage children’s interests, inclusion, and participation, including facilitating age-appropriate decision-making.

• Keep learning environments safe, engaging, and appealing.

• Drive the PLAYVAN to designated program locations as needed.

• Perform additional duties as directed to support the effective delivery of the program.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Certificate III in Child Related Studies or currently enrolled in a relevant field of study.

• Experience in an early childhood setting.

• Strong understanding of development through play practices and positive parenting strategies, along with recognition of the significance of early learning attendance for children before school.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Valid Working With Children Check, Driver’s Licence, and the ability to operate a larger vehicle.
