This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee an advisory group and cultivate a safe, supportive community.
• Create and sustain personalized learning plans while assisting students in establishing and reviewing their learning objectives.
• Deliver interdisciplinary, thematic, student-focused, and place-based educational experiences in collaboration with a team.
• Mentor and guide students in their personal and mastery projects that are driven by their interests.
• Develop learning activities that align with the TGS learning targets.
• Incorporate global perspectives and culturally relevant, inclusive content into the programming.
• Evaluate and track student learning outcomes utilizing approved TGS software.
• Communicate assessment results to parents and facilitate student self-reflection and assessment.
• Adhere to safety protocols, emergency action plans, and responsibilities while on duty.
• Collaborate with TGS departments, in-country coordinators, community partners, and vendors.
• Engage in technology professional development and disseminate technology best practices.
• Supervise students, promote their health and well-being, and take part in the Inside Out program.
• Contribute to ongoing school improvement efforts, planning, shared decision-making, inspections, and reviews.
• Design, lead, and oversee 5–10 day excursions for groups of 10–15 students.
• Maintain academic records, document student journal entries, and ensure effective communication with parents.
• Assist onsite in-country coordinators with transportation, accommodation, medical support, and technology logistics.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Proficiency in distance and online teaching methodologies.
• Familiarity with virtual tools that enhance online learning.
• Adaptability to modify teaching and counseling methods in response to emerging technologies.
• Capability to create and deliver educator-led workshops centered on project-based learning, assessment, student-driven initiatives, and technology integration.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and openness to change.
• Strong motivation, initiative, follow-through, and commitment to the role.
• Understanding of TGS programs and skill requirements.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Capacity to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with educational opportunities in assigned countries.
• Leadership and organizational skills for managing small and large groups.
• Proficiency with Google applications, particularly Calendaring, Spreadsheets, and Forms.
• Capability to self-assess technology skills and a strong motivation to acquire new skills.
• Willingness and ability to live and work in a communal environment that serves as both a professional workplace and a home for students and staff.
• Ability to frequently lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Capability to carry 20–65 pounds across varying terrains.
• Ability to board and exit a boat with minimal assistance and to right oneself in the event of a boat tipping.
• Ability to work off trail at altitudes of 7,000–14,000 feet.
• Current WFR, TMFR, or CPR certification is recommended.
