This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• This internship is primarily focused on multimedia and social media editorial work while also engaging in broader editorial projects.
• You will contribute to the creation of editorial content, particularly in multimedia, which includes assisting in the production of short-form video clips for YouTube and social media, collaborating with our technical A/V editors by identifying, time-stamping, and editing compelling clips, as well as creating YouTube thumbnails and social media copy.
• You will aid in the enhancement of our clipping operations by strategically defining and refining our approach and strategy.
• Your responsibilities will include producing, overhauling, and updating podcast shownotes; cleaning up transcripts, segmenting by topic, and assisting with time-stamping; along with conducting occasional research and preparation for episodes.
• You will assist in editing content as necessary, which may involve transforming transcripts of partner interviews into written posts, repackaging existing posts, or aiding in writing and editing new content. Additionally, you will update past content archives for site metadata (including tagging taxonomy) and perform other content maintenance tasks as required.
• You will help produce special series and projects ranging from data reports to op-eds and other media packages.
• Assistance with basic editorial design tasks may be needed, including collaboration with various designers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with prior experience in media outlets, conducting publishing experiments, or developing social media profiles.
• A strong interest in technology, science, or computer science, along with specific passion projects that demonstrate depth of knowledge.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Technical experience with various multimedia editing tools is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience in a media environment is advantageous but not required; please share your portfolio of samples—whether pieces or clips you wrote, produced, or contributed to in any way—to demonstrate your capabilities.
• Highly productive individuals with strong organizational or analytical skills are encouraged to apply.
