This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Create a content strategy and editorial vision for the usgbc.org online articles platform and the USGBC+ digital magazine.
• Act as the primary editor for the USGBC+ digital magazine.
• Write, edit, and publish articles on the USGBC+ platform.
• Source images and graphics.
• Expand content strategy and introduce new features that align with USGBC objectives.
• Oversee editorial calendars and guarantee timely content delivery.
• Identify and assign content that enhances USGBC’s voice and establishes industry authority.
• Promote coverage regarding membership benefits and products such as LEED, TRUE Zero Waste, and SITES.
• Supervise content development by freelance and internal writers.
• Define content marketing strategies for various usgbc.org audiences.
• Lead priority-topic editorial strategies, including collaboration with LEED Fellows.
• Produce thought leadership pieces and content showcasing client projects.
• Write and edit articles contributed by both internal and external authors.
• Optimize campaign content and strategies using readership analytics.
• Manage schedules and publication of online articles.
• Edit and publish the monthly newsletter for employees/staff.
• Assist with content for executive communications.
• Collaborate with marketing, communications, and cross-functional teams.
• Partner with members, regional colleagues, and LEED Fellows globally to gather insights and deliver programs.
• Report directly to the Director of Global Corporate Communications.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in writing, editing, communications, marketing, publications, project management, digital and content strategy, or related fields.
• Proven experience managing publication workflows and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline.
• Exceptional English grammar, style, and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with Associated Press (AP) style.
• Knowledge of web publishing tools.
• Ability to swiftly integrate industry-specific terminology and internal styles.
• Capacity to utilize data and analytics for content strategy adjustments.
• Creative thinking coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
• An inquisitive mindset and adaptability to ask questions and pivot for successful communications content.
• Skill in integrating organizational messaging across various content types.
• Focus on understanding customer journeys, needs, and categories/personas.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
• Willingness to travel 5% for local client engagement and industry events.
