East Africa Regional Technical Advisor I – Polio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic and technical leadership for the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) initiative.

• Ensure that STRIDES polio initiatives align with global guidelines and national policies.

• Provide technical oversight for the implementation within the country.

• Facilitate capacity building, mentoring, and technical support for teams at the country level.

• Create tools, guidance, learning materials, and public resources for STRIDES’ polio portfolio.

• Represent STRIDES’ polio interests with key donors and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with various teams to ensure cohesive implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree or its International Equivalent in Health, Life/Social Sciences, International Development, or a Related Field.

• Project Management (PM) Certification is a plus.

• Typically requires over 8 years of relevant experience in designing and evaluating applicable programs/services.

• A minimum of five years of pertinent experience in public health, particularly in developing countries, with an emphasis on Polio eradication, surveillance, or infectious disease control.

• Proficient experience in current polio eradication, surveillance, laboratory support, or related program developments in polio eradication and/or Global Health Security.

• Fluency in English is mandatory.
