Global Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• The Senior Global HSE Advisor acts as a senior technical resource and recognized subject matter expert supporting Veriforce’s initiatives in global contractor management, health, safety, sustainability, and risk management.

• Collaborating closely with the Vice President, Global HSE & Sustainability, this role aids in driving industry engagement, thought leadership, Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) initiatives, product innovation, and developing scalable contractor management solutions.

• This position serves as a vital connection between industry trends, client requirements, emerging regulatory obligations, and Veriforce’s strategic vision.

• The role works in partnership with clients, industry stakeholders, product teams, and internal subject matter experts throughout North America, Latin America, EMEA, and APAC to enhance Veriforce’s market leadership and facilitate the provision of innovative, globally relevant solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Risk Management, Business, or a related field.

• At least 8 years of progressive experience in health and safety, contractor management, operational risk management, sustainability, consulting, or related fields.

• Preferred experience supporting multinational organizations and geographically diverse stakeholders across various regions and time zones.

• Highly desirable experience in supporting entities operating across multiple regulatory jurisdictions, including European Union directives and specific occupational health and safety regulations.

• Preferred experience with domestic and international business travel, conferences, customer interactions, and industry events.

• Proven experience in presenting at conferences, leading workshops, conducting client engagements, or delivering technical training.

• Preferred involvement in industry associations, standards committees, advisory boards, or professional organizations.

• Professional fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Professional proficiency in a second language is highly valued, with Spanish and French being particularly beneficial, along with other languages relevant to Veriforce’s global operations.

• A strong grasp of contractor management principles, contractor qualification processes, and contractor risk management practices.

• Familiarity with health and safety management systems, sustainability frameworks, and risk management methodologies.

• Exceptional analytical, research, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong skills in written and verbal communication, facilitation, public speaking, and presentation.

• Excellent relationship-building, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Ability to effectively function within a globally distributed organization and collaborate across diverse cultures, time zones, and business functions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

• Experience using contractor management, compliance, risk management, learning management, or enterprise software platforms.

• Desirable experience leveraging AI-enabled research, content development, analysis, and productivity tools.

• Preferred professional certifications such as NEBOSH, CMIOSH, CSP, ASP, CRSP, CHMM, SMS, ISO 45001 Auditor, or equivalent.
