This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Oversee impactful drug discovery initiatives from the validation of targets to the selection of candidates.
• Transform advanced scientific research into compounds ready for clinical application.
• Direct integrated drug discovery projects within DiscoveryOne® across various fields including Oncology, Inflammation, Neuroscience, Metabolism, and Infectious Diseases.
• Assemble and manage cross-disciplinary project teams that include Eurofins Discovery scientists and client collaborators.
• Strategically design, plan, and implement comprehensive discovery strategies.
• Advise clients and the Business Development team on requirements and integrated drug discovery proposals.
• Create necessary screening cascades and workflows.
• Propel project activities across relevant locations to ensure timely data delivery, achievement of milestones, and effective client relationships.
• Analyze data to support quick decision-making, identify potential risks, and formulate solutions.
• Act as the primary project contact through meetings, updates, timelines, data delivery, change requests, and financial/commercial discussions.
• Keep project management documents, SharePoint trackers, and Gantt charts updated.
• Formulate resourcing and budget plans.
• Report project status and issues to management and stakeholders.
• Engage with clients, industry colleagues, and suppliers, including conducting customer and client visits.
• Lead post-project evaluations, share insights gained, and contribute to ongoing improvements.
• Proficient in utilizing online project and data management tools, including SharePoint.
• Educational background in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, or DMPK.
• Over 10 years of industry experience with extensive drug discovery knowledge across therapeutic areas, project phases, target classes, and gene families.
• Proven history of leading teams and delivering multiple clinical candidates.
• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent in biological sciences or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in drug discovery project leadership within the industry.
• Expertise in therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, metabolism, or immuno-oncology.
• Exceptional project planning, leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and timely outputs.
• Capability to inspire teamwork, motivate colleagues, and operate effectively in a matrix environment.
• Competence to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and maintains a positive outlook.
• Must reside in CST or EST time zones.
• Ability to acquire new skills, manage multiple tasks, keep accurate records, and adhere to company policies.
• Proficient in advanced computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, PowerPoint, project management software, Microsoft Project, and AI tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
