This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct image data collection utilizing high-resolution cameras and thermal imaging through a blend of LiDAR, drone photogrammetry, and FLIR technology.
• Carry out pre-flight and post-flight tasks, which include airspace coordination, assembling and disassembling equipment, and implementing hazard mitigation strategies.
• Create a detailed flight plan that specifies the inspection route, waypoints, and focal areas to guarantee thorough coverage.
• Utilize thermal imaging technology to identify anomalies, hotspots, or potential issues that may not be detectable by the naked eye.
• Apply proper flying techniques, such as smooth maneuvers, maintaining safe distances from power lines, and capturing images from various angles for precise analysis.
• Be ready to address any technical difficulties that may occur during inspections, including signal interference, battery issues, or camera calibration problems.
• Preserve data integrity by consistently checking image quality, sensor precision, and appropriate data storage to reduce errors or inaccuracies.
• Conduct quality assessments on collected data to ensure precision and satisfaction of client requirements.
• Act as a liaison with clients concerning project scope, scheduling, deliverables, and follow-up communications.
• Engage with the public to clarify the nature of the work being performed.
• Perform manual flights for inspecting power lines and poles.
• Possession of a current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License is required.
• Strong aptitude for learning and mastering various software packages, data collection platforms, and related workflows.
• Preference will be given to candidates with practical knowledge of utility infrastructure, GIS mapping, and proficiency in manual flight operations in narrow right-of-ways.
• Must be comfortable working in extreme weather conditions.
• Capability to drive for extended durations.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks that involve frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, walking on uneven terrain, and lifting/carrying equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
