Driller Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Support Drill Operators: Assist core drill operators in the setup and operation of drilling equipment to collect core samples.

• Equipment Management: Transport drills, supplies, and equipment as necessary.

• Drill Setup: Construct drill decks and other related structures.

• Material Handling: Move and transport steel drill rods, core tubes, and casings.

• Sample Management: Transfer core samples from core tubes to core boxes and ensure accurate labeling with area and depth information.

• Drilling Mud Preparation: Mix and maintain drilling mud as required.

• Equipment Maintenance: Clean, repair, and maintain equipment to guarantee optimal performance.

• Safety in Work Areas: Ensure that work areas are safe, tidy, and free of hazards.

• Water Line Management: Oversee water lines and supply pumps.

• Tool Operation: Use hand and power tools safely.

• Vehicle and Equipment Operation: Drive water trucks, tractors, forklifts, and other necessary equipment.

• Additional Responsibilities: Carry out other assigned tasks to support drilling operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts (both day and night), up to 20 consecutive days followed by 10 days off (including weekends and holidays).

• Openness to travel (including out of state) if local work is not available.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with others.

• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

• Capacity to lift up to 100 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Capability to climb ladders and equipment.

• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts (both day and night) for up to 20 consecutive days.

• Comfort in working under extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, and wet).

• Willingness to travel for multi-day assignments away from home.

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
