Driller Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.

📋 Description

• Assist Drill Operator: Provide support to core drill operators in the setup and operation of drilling equipment to collect core samples.

• Equipment Handling: Transport drills, supplies, and necessary equipment as required.

• Set Up Drills: Construct drill decks and other related structures.

• Handle Materials: Lift and transport steel drill rods, core tubes, and casings.

• Sample Handling: Move core samples from core tubes into core boxes and accurately label them with information regarding area and depth.

• Mix Drill Mud: Prepare and manage drilling mud as needed.

• Maintenance: Conduct maintenance, repair, and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Work Area Safety: Maintain safe, clean, and obstacle-free work environments.

• Water Supply: Oversee the maintenance of water lines and supply pumps.

• Tool Use: Utilize hand and power tools safely.

• Vehicle and Equipment Operation: Drive water trucks, tractors, forklifts, and other machinery as necessary.

• Additional Duties: Execute other assigned tasks to support drilling operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts (day and night), up to 20 consecutive days followed by 10 days off (including weekends and holidays).

• Must be willing to travel (including out of state) if local work is unavailable.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with others.

• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

• Capability to lift up to 100 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to climb ladders and equipment safely.

• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts (day and night) for up to 20 consecutive days.

• Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, and wet).

• Must be prepared to travel for multi-day assignments away from home.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
