This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Conduct DRG validation for inpatient coding cases.
• Perform inpatient audits, encompassing complex inpatient and trauma coding reviews.
• Identify opportunities for coding improvements and verify DRG assignments.
• Implement ICD-10-CM/PCS coding standards and MS-DRG/APR-DRG methodologies.
• Assess documentation requirements and reimbursement methods.
• Provide comprehensive audit results.
• Deliver top-notch coding services to clients as an integral part of HCCS's coding operations.
• Current AHIMA or AAPC coding certification is mandatory.
• CCS certification is required.
• CDIP and/or CCDS certification is preferred.
• At least 3 years of recent APR-DRG/DRG coding experience in a Level II Trauma Center or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of recent inpatient auditing experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher.
• Previous experience in DRG/APR-DRG validation is essential.
• In-depth understanding of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines.
• Familiarity with MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignment, reimbursement methods, and documentation requirements.
• Capability to identify coding opportunities, validate DRG assignments, and deliver clear audit findings.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be a resident of the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
