DRF Board Member

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Board of Directors at DRF is primarily accountable for ensuring the organization meets its legal and other responsibilities.

• The Board safeguards the organization's assets, offers strategic guidance, and promotes respectful and inclusive conduct in all interactions.

• Collaborate with leadership to establish the vision, mission, values, and strategic direction.

• Assess organizational performance in relation to strategic objectives.

• Provide oversight for financial matters and protect the organization's assets.

• Ensure a robust fundraising strategy and engage actively in fundraising initiatives.

• Select, supervise, and evaluate the Executive Director.

• Uphold the highest standards of governance and ethical practices.

• Maintain fiduciary responsibilities of care, loyalty, and obedience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Financial Expertise: Preference for expertise in one or more of the following areas; nonprofit financial management, GAAP accounting, audit review, investment strategy.

• Legal Expertise: Preference for expertise in one or more of the following areas: nonprofit law, governance, IRS compliance for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations, international grantmaking.

• Fundraising Expertise: Experience in development strategy, donor relations, philanthropy, and resource mobilization.

• Rights Advocate: Preferred experience in Disability Rights, but applicants with advocacy experience in other movements, especially in the Global South, are welcome.
