This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.
• Establish, optimize, and oversee the QA function within the designated portfolio, ensuring adherence to the Mashreq QA Policy and TCOE framework.
• Deploy standardized testing methodologies, tools, processes, and templates across all projects within the portfolio.
• Align the QA strategy with specific business objectives, IT goals, and regulatory requirements pertinent to the portfolio.
• Spearhead the execution of the TCOE framework, governance policies, and best practices throughout the portfolio.
• Partner with the Central Process Governance Team to integrate the latest QA processes and guarantee compliance.
• Collaborate with the Technical Lead Team to foster an automation-first mindset, performance testing, and data strategy, as well as with the Transformation Office & Change Executors to ensure visibility and alignment on QA standards and implementation.
• Utilize extensive domain knowledge to customize QA practices according to the unique requirements of the portfolio (e.g., Digital Banking, Retail Banking).
• Support from Domain Experts to assist the Portfolio QA Lead in validating critical business scenarios, identifying domain-specific risks, and ensuring coverage of essential functionalities.
• Guarantee the consistent application of QA policies, templates, and standards across all testing activities.
• Collaborate with product owners, initiation leads, business stakeholders, and users to understand requirements and facilitate effective test planning and execution.
• Monitor testing projects to ensure compliance, quality outcomes, and on-time delivery.
• Optimize the utilization of defined QA metrics and KPIs (e.g., defect trends, coverage, cycle time) to assess effectiveness and enhance accountability.
• Present QA performance reports to portfolio stakeholders and the Head of TCOE.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations derived from test results, trends, and risk indicators.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the continuous enhancement of QA practices within the portfolio.
• Foster QA maturity within the portfolio through mentoring, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Advocate for the adoption of innovative tools and techniques aligned with TCOE objectives.
• Assist in the onboarding and upskilling of QA team members within the portfolio.
• Employ risk-based testing strategies to prioritize efforts based on business impact and technical complexity.
• Ensure QA practices enhance user experience and customer satisfaction.
• Over 15 years of experience in banking QA across areas such as Core Banking, Digital, Trade, etc.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics.
• Experience in QA and leadership roles within QA.
• Proficient in collaborating with QA teams.
• Advanced knowledge in automation scripting, tagging conventions, and test case design.
• Strong understanding of the defect lifecycle, severity categorization, defect aging, and defect removal efficiency (DRE).
• Capable of managing test data provisioning, synthetic data generation, and environment setup.
• Practical experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and dashboard/reporting tools such as Excel, Grafana, and Power BI.
• Skilled in validating APIs for functionality, reliability, and security.
• Ability to define and monitor: Automation coverage, Execution metrics (planned vs. actual), Defect density and leakage trends, Productivity benchmarks (e.g., test cases per day), Exit criteria automation.
• Experience in creating dashboards with auto-populated metrics and heat maps for defect and execution trends.
• Proficient in root cause analysis, risk identification, and mitigation planning.
• Effective in stakeholder management, engagement, cross-functional coordination, and clear documentation.
• Leading triage calls, conducting peer reviews, and mentoring junior testers.
• Driving process optimization, standardization, and reuse of QA assets.
• Deliverables & Responsibilities include: QA Strategy Documents, Test Plans & Exit Reports, Automation Strategy & Execution Summaries, Weekly Status Reports & Dashboards, and SOPs for QA processes.
• Conducting weekly, monthly, and quarterly QA audits and reporting.
• 15 years of experience in banking QA in domains like Core banking, Digital, Trade etc.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics.
• Experience in QA and QA leadership roles.
• Proficient in working with QA teams.
• Advanced understanding in automation scripting, tagging conventions, and test case design.
