Document Automation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and uphold automated legal document templates utilizing conditional logic for intricate legal scenarios and jurisdiction-specific variations.

• Convert attorney-prepared legal language and specifications into dynamic, logic-based templates.

• Employ conditional logic to organize, style, and script document templates alongside related automation workflows.

• Conduct thorough testing of document outputs across various input combinations to ensure the accuracy and compliance of documents.

• Collaborate with attorneys, product managers, and engineers to clarify project requirements.

• Actively seek clarification when specifications are unclear or incomplete.

• Clearly document work processes to ensure templates remain manageable as the product evolves.

• Commit to continuous learning of new tools, automation platforms, and estate planning concepts.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of practical experience in legal document automation.

• Proficiency in creating templates with conditional logic using Contract Express, HotDocs, Gavel, or similar platforms.

• Working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript.

• Experience with legal documents and understanding of legal language.

• Strong understanding of precision requirements in a highly regulated environment.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to work autonomously, manage workflow, and deliver consistently in a remote setting.

• Quick learner who is comfortable acquiring new tools, concepts, and legal subject matter.

• Excellent communication skills and the judgment to ask clarifying questions.

• Preferred: familiarity with estate planning documents and concepts, including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.

• Preferred: experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or legal technologist.
