This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and evaluate court dockets to pinpoint filings, rulings, orders, and case updates impacting clients and attorneys.
• Calculate, schedule, and monitor critical deadlines in accordance with court rules, scheduling orders, and relevant procedural requirements.
• Input and sustain court dates, deadlines, and case events within the firm's docketing system.
• Examine pleadings, motions, court orders, and various legal documents to determine pertinent docketing requirements.
• Investigate court procedures and filing mandates to ensure compliance across different jurisdictions.
• Create docket reports and convey essential case information to attorneys and legal teams.
• Conduct regular audits and quality control checks to uphold the accuracy and integrity of docket information.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to facilitate timely filings and efficient case management.
• Disseminate relevant updates on court rules and procedures to the appropriate teams.
• Recognize opportunities to enhance docketing processes and improve departmental efficiency.
• Work with colleagues across various offices to address inquiries and promote effective communication.
• Assist with department projects and fulfill additional tasks as directed by the Docketing Manager.
• Maintain adaptability in daily work schedules during peak workload periods and perform other assigned duties.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal docketing, litigation support, paralegal roles, court administration, or legal operations within a law firm, corporate legal department, or court environment.
• Experience in supporting multi-jurisdictional litigation, including federal, state, appellate, and administrative courts.
• Thorough understanding of court rules, procedures, filing requirements, and deadlines.
• Capability to accurately interpret and apply complex procedural requirements.
• Knowledge of legal docketing principles and calendaring methodologies.
• Experience in calculating deadlines based on court rules, statutes, scheduling orders, and local practices.
• Proficient in using docketing, calendaring, and case management systems such as CourtAlert, CompuLaw, eDockets, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with electronic court filing and research systems, including PACER/CM-ECF and state court e-filing platforms.
• Ability to review and interpret court filings, orders, notices, and other procedural documents.
• Knowledge of litigation lifecycle events, service requirements, procedural milestones, and the role of docketing in law firm risk management and compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a dedication to precise and dependable work.
• Ability to organize competing priorities, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt as needs and priorities shift.
• Clear and professional communication skills while working independently and collaboratively across teams.
• Capability to research and resolve complex docketing or procedural inquiries.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
• Background check required.
• Experience with automation tools, workflow management systems, and reporting or dashboard features within docketing platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of specialized court procedures, including bankruptcy, intellectual property, or international matters, is a plus.
