This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage Confined-Water Training for Introductory Dives for non-certified guests and crew.

• Supervise and ensure Open-Water Dives are conducted for appropriately certified guests and crew.

• Responsible for the maintenance and care of all diving equipment (including snorkelling gear), swiftly addressing any faults or issues, as well as overseeing the Rigid Inflatable Boat, and collaborating with the Engineer on the compressor and air storage cylinders.

• Manage water activities, particularly snorkelling and diving events.

• Ensure that equipment maintenance is conducted and maintain updated equipment manuals and log sheets.

• Conduct a thorough and accurate inventory of dive and snorkelling equipment at the end of each month, including a condition report.

• Train new crew members in Snorkel Rescue, ensuring completion within their initial 90-day probationary period.

• When necessary, guide and actively oversee the health and safety of guests.

• Assist with loading and disembarking guests from the Xplorers and other ship tenders.

• Perform pre-excursion risk assessments.

• Understand and adhere to regulatory restrictions and conditions applicable to each site visited.

• Provide accurate and comprehensive logistical and safety information to guests and crew during each excursion, maintaining constant vigilance for everyone's safety.

• Encourage engagement and interaction among passengers.

• Ensure guests and crew conduct themselves properly in relation to indigenous and historical sites, beach collecting, and wildlife, in line with eco-tourism accreditation, operational permits, and concessions.

• Collaborate with the crew on vessel turnaround tasks, including gangway watch duties.

• Work effectively as part of a high-performing team to enhance the overall cruise experience.

• Uphold the highest standards of conduct, discipline, and appearance in alignment with company policy at all times.

• Follow all reasonable instructions provided by the Manager or their delegate.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience within marine environments.

• Ability to earn the confidence and respect of guests.

• Preferable strong knowledge and experience in boat handling.

• Previous experience in remote locations is advantageous.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Confident in public speaking.

• Guiding experience is highly valued.

• Excellent customer service skills: professional demeanor and ability to exercise tact and courtesy.

• Capacity to troubleshoot, act swiftly with confidence, and make sound decisions while exercising good judgment.

• Ability to perform well under pressure.

• Degree in Natural Sciences or a related field is highly regarded.

• PADI Dive Instructor Qualification with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Current First Aid & CPR certification.

• Valid Passport.

• Willingness to obtain qualifications with us, including AMSA endorsed Certificate of Safety Training (CoST).

• Experience in Crowd Control & Crisis Management.

• AMSA Medical certification.

• AMSA endorsed Marine Cook Certificate.

• Australian Seafarers book or equivalent discharge book from another country.

• Valid Drivers Licence (manual preferred).

• Vaccination Record for Yellow Fever.

• Certification in Remote First Aid & Advanced CPR.

• Coxswains Certificate – Grade 1 (AMSA endorsed).
