This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Accountable for overseeing all on-premise activities and programming within the assigned territory via distributors to maximize market penetration, brand recognition, and sales performance.
• Directs the implementation of the company’s core and premium product lines across a diverse range of accounts.
• Tasked with broadening distribution by developing a wider account base and boosting sales within the distributor network.
• Maintains and improves mindshare within the distributor network; collaborates with distributor representatives to execute sales strategies and objectives that benefit both parties.
• Employs target account lists for all brands and wines by channel and, in conjunction with their Manager, formulates a timeline for account visits and distributor interactions.
• Identifies and supports key accounts within both the core and premium product offerings.
• Leverages product and business knowledge to educate distributor representatives and accounts, enhancing product turnover.
• Represents The Duckhorn Portfolio at consumer and trade events, coordinating participation in luxury and fine wine events alongside relevant specialists to ensure consistent brand representation.
• Aids in monitoring distributor inventory and works with specialist roles on inventory visibility and proper management of allocated and limited-production wines.
• Provides recommendations to the direct manager regarding pricing and programming that align with the annual budget and drive sales in the designated area through market-specific initiatives.
• Ensures clear account ownership, segmentation, and call reporting to facilitate cross-functional collaboration while adhering to budgetary constraints.
• Contributes to achieving 100% compliance for national accounts programming through initial implementation and follow-up efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• At least 4 years of sales experience in the wine industry, preferably with a luxury brand.
• Required experience working with distributor networks and managing broad market execution.
• Preferred exposure to on-premise sales and a solid understanding of luxury and fine wine segmentation.
• Fundamental knowledge of fine wine is necessary.
• Proven ability to operate within a matrixed sales organization that includes specialized roles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
• Familiarity with Diver or Dynamics 365 iDig or VIP Karma is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 50-60% of the time within the designated market to visit accounts, distributors, customers, and host events during both day and night.
• Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, proof of state car registration, insurance, and a clean driving record.
