This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Create and implement intricate engineering solutions for power distribution projects with voltage ranges from 120V to 34.5kV.
• Utilize engineering principles along with relevant utility standards, such as NESC, NEC, ASCE, and IEEE.
• Evaluate engineering and design drawings produced by Engineer I and II staff, as well as interns.
• Offer technical advice and support throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Identify, assess, and resolve challenging engineering and design issues.
• Ensure all engineering work adheres to safety regulations and design standards alongside best practices.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and changes in regulations.
• Generate technical documentation, reports, project records, plans, specifications, procurement documents, and construction paperwork.
• Relay project status, risks, and technical information to supervising engineers and stakeholders.
• Engage in stakeholder meetings.
• Conduct field walkdowns to collect site data and assist in design development.
• Mentor Engineer I and II staff, as well as Intern/Co-op participants.
• Promote process enhancements and initiatives for innovation.
• Get involved in professional organizations and conferences.
• Pursue professional growth and licensure advancement with guidance from senior engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil/Structural, Mechanical, or Multi-Disciplinary Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience as a Power Distribution Line Engineer within a consulting or utility setting.
• Practical knowledge of NESC, ASCE, and IEEE standards relevant to power distribution line design.
• Capability to work autonomously and manage multiple ongoing project commitments with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the aptitude to analyze intricate engineering challenges and devise practical, innovative solutions.
• Active Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in the United States is highly preferred, but not mandatory.
