This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop technologies that enhance Netflix’s global content creation efforts efficiently and at scale.
• Design and manage a robust, scalable, and highly available infrastructure that prioritizes developer experience, observability, and operational excellence.
• Analyze complex issues and customer challenges, providing solutions with suitable technologies.
• Advocate for high-quality code and engineering best practices.
• Support career growth, mentor engineers, and foster technical communities.
• Design, construct, and maintain distributed systems ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Establish technical direction for engineering initiatives and make architectural choices.
• Impact partner and cross-functional teams.
• Articulate complex technical ideas to a diverse range of stakeholders and facilitate discussions and decisions through effective written and verbal communication.
• Engage in the on-call rotation and lead incident review sessions.
• Contribute to the managed data, workflow, messaging, and communication platforms of the Enterprise Workflow Platform for Studio and Content Engineering.
• Over 5 years of experience in developing complex distributed systems.
• Recent hands-on experience with Java, C#, or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented design principles, concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning, and observability.
• Demonstrated success in architecting, building, and operating distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Experience guiding technical direction for engineering projects.
• Proficient in making architectural decisions and influencing partner and cross-functional teams.
• Capable of explaining complex technical concepts to various stakeholders through both written and verbal communication.
• Participation in on-call rotations and leadership in incident reviews.
• A product-oriented mindset regarding infrastructure and platforms.
• Experience in developing long-term technical strategies that align with business objectives.
• Skilled in gRPC and/or GraphQL API design and implementation.
• Practical experience with Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Memcached, and/or AWS.
• Familiarity with library development and dependency-injection frameworks, ideally Spring Boot.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and the ability to assess new AI-driven development tools.
