Distributed Systems Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Integrate backend, frontend, platform, and infrastructure choices into a unified, enterprise-level architecture.

• Spearhead initiatives to eliminate scalability and reliability debt, upgrade essential infrastructure safely, and minimize single-threaded dependencies.

• Guide high-level decisions regarding testing methodologies, validation frameworks, and system design issues.

• Modernize and expand production systems by employing database-level strategies and platform primitives.

• Create a common set of engineering practices and terminology while mentoring senior talent within the engineering team.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of data systems, latency-sensitive services, and potential failure modes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in performance-sensitive REST APIs, caching methodologies, and fundamental distributed systems principles.

• Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL, including upgrades, query optimization, replication trade-offs, and schema evolution.

• Advanced SQL skills.

• Extensive experience with Azure and/or AWS.

• Hands-on experience with production-grade Kubernetes and Docker.

• Strong production background in Node.js and/or Python.

• Practical knowledge of observability tools, including logs, metrics, and traces.

• Experience with CI/CD processes.

• Understanding of SRE fundamentals, including SLIs and SLOs.

• Knowledge of security best practices, including IAM and secrets management.
