• Act as the primary technical consultant to the CTO/CIO and the executive leadership team on all aspects concerning data strategy, integration architecture, and enterprise data platforms.
• Define and take ownership of the enterprise-wide vision for data and integration architecture, ensuring it aligns with the overarching business strategy, product roadmap, and growth objectives of the company.
• Lead technology strategy decisions that extend beyond the data ecosystem, impacting platform direction, build-vs-buy choices, and technology investment priorities at the enterprise level.
• Present architectural vision, risk evaluations, and technology investment suggestions to executive leadership and, when appropriate, to the board.
• Take charge of and advance the enterprise integration architecture encompassing ERP, CRM, HR, and SaaS systems, establishing the strategic direction for the interconnection of the company’s systems ecosystem.
• Develop enterprise-wide integration standards, patterns, and principles (batch, near-real-time, event-driven) that will be implemented by other architects and engineering teams.
• Establish non-functional standards for error handling, logging, monitoring, retry logic, and performance that will become the organizational defaults.
• Over 15 years of progressive experience in data architecture, integration architecture, or platform architecture, with a minimum of 5 years functioning at a principal, distinguished, or equivalent senior architecture level.
• Proven track record of establishing enterprise-wide architectural vision and strategy that has directly impacted business results.
• Extensive expertise in designing enterprise integrations using iPaaS or middleware platforms (such as Boomi or similar) across batch, near-real-time, and event-driven patterns.
• In-depth knowledge of modern data warehousing/lakehouse architectures and Microsoft data platforms (including Fabric, Synapse, SQL, Power BI, or similar).
• Verified experience in defining and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks and metadata management tools (like Purview or similar).
• Advanced SQL capabilities and proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python preferred).
• Familiarity with APIs, REST, JSON, and data transformation pipelines.
• History of influencing technology decisions at the executive level and presenting to senior leadership.
