Dispatcher/Router

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate communication between WM drivers to aid in problem-solving during their routes.

• Manage incoming service orders, guide drivers, and address service-related issues.

• Collaborate with customer service, sales teams, route managers, mechanics, sites, and service departments.

• Utilize WM proprietary software for same-day ticket routing and to organize routes for the following day.

• Dispatch drivers based on customer requirements, driver locations, loads, and daily operational factors.

• Enhance routing efficiency according to customer needs.

• Assess daily driver staffing levels to maintain a balance between responsiveness and productivity.

• Allocate routes and service tickets to drivers throughout the day and for the upcoming day.

• Oversee route actions and ensure successful route completion.

• Address incoming calls and emails concerning pickups, deliveries, and container movements.

• Interact with customers while drivers are present to resolve any service delays.

• Identify and troubleshoot delivery and pickup challenges before they escalate into service issues.

• Guarantee same-day service for missed pickups by effectively managing routing and monitoring driver movements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

• Minimum of 6 months relevant work experience.

• Proven experience working collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.

• Capability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced workplace.

• Exceptional organizational skills.

• Prior experience in dispatch, routing, or route optimization is essential.

• Preferred skills include strong communication and computer proficiency.

• Willingness to obtain a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if necessary for business travel.
