Dispatcher/Router

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Engage with WM drivers to facilitate problem-solving during their routes.

• Manage incoming service orders and provide direction to drivers.

• Address service issues related to residential, commercial, and roll-off operations.

• Collaborate with customer service, sales, route managers, mechanics, and various operational personnel.

• Utilize WM proprietary software to oversee same-day ticket routing.

• Prepare all routes for the following day.

• Dispatch drivers according to customer demands, driver locations, loads, costs, and customer satisfaction.

• Enhance routes in coordination with sites and the service department.

• Assess daily driver staffing requirements.

• Distribute routes and service tickets throughout the day and for the subsequent day.

• Manage route activities and ensure successful route completion.

• Respond to incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales.

• Oversee pickup and delivery requests for container movements within the designated market area.

• Communicate with customers while drivers are on-site to address service delays.

• Resolve delivery and pickup issues efficiently.

• Guarantee same-day service for missed pickups by managing routing and tracking driver movements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

• A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in a team-oriented environment.

• Proficient in effective communication across multiple areas.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work setting.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Must reside and work in Canada.

• Some travel, up to 15%, may be necessary.

• Preferred additional or specialized training in transportation, logistics, or a related field.

• Customer service experience in a call-center setting is preferred.
