This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Act as a proficient disaster recovery specialist, showcasing expertise in aiding local governments with long-term recovery efforts following natural disasters, while also functioning as a hands-on project manager overseeing intricate and evolving disaster recovery initiatives.
• Candidates should utilize their knowledge of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Program - Permanent Work (Categories C-G), and understand how these can be strategically implemented to tackle complex challenges and requirements in a post-disaster context.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on the FEMA PA Program, capable of addressing policy-related inquiries within an appropriate yet necessary timeframe.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team that supports all facets of recovery (e.g., cost recovery, infrastructure redevelopment, economic development, housing, social services, etc.), assigning tasks, evaluating staffing requirements, and developing strategies to meet unmet needs and optimize funding.
• Uphold strong project management best practices, ensuring client visibility on all activities; delivering high-quality outputs; and maintaining Hagerty's core values of integrity, innovation, teamwork, and excellence throughout all endeavors.
• Previous support for local governments affected by natural disasters through various federal disaster grant programs from the initial stages of a disaster until grant obligation and closeout.
• At least four years (4) of experience with the FEMA PA Program, including Permanent Work (Categories C-G).
• Proven experience in managing intricate and dynamic projects.
• High proficiency in written communication, including the capacity to develop nuanced/policy complex recommendation documents.
• Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to high-level stakeholders.
• Prior experience managing workloads for large, multi-disciplinary teams with varying levels of expertise (i.e., junior associates to senior subject matter experts).
• Strong proficiency in MS Office products, databases, and other software/technology platforms.
