This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Evaluate ATP-STD or DMCS claims to determine benefit eligibility.
• Make recommendations in accordance with service standards.
• Conduct telephone interviews aimed at gathering essential information, including medical/treatment status, functional details, and readiness to return to work (RTW).
• Recognize and assess both medical and non-medical challenges as well as functional capabilities.
• Create, communicate, and execute proactive case management strategies.
• Identify appropriate rehabilitation referrals as necessary.
• Leverage both external and internal resources to advance claims towards resolution.
• Maintain professional engagement with all stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Ensure accurate billing entries are made.
• Provide timely and detailed documentation to facilitate the progression of claims.
• Participate in team scrums and meetings, offering support and coverage for colleagues as needed.
• 1-2 years of experience in progressive disability management.
• Experience with long-term or short-term disability insurance is a valuable asset.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and disability contract language.
• Relevant post-secondary degree (e.g., Kinesiology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field) or equivalent experience.
• In-depth knowledge of STD/LTD policies and Group Plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Bilingualism in French is an asset.
• A good standing relationship with a relevant regulatory body (e.g., BCAK, CAOT-BC, etc.) and/or membership in the Vocational Rehabilitation Association (VRA) of Canada is advantageous.
