
Director – US Marketing, Inborn Errors of Metabolism

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Reporting to the US Marketing Lead, the Director of US Marketing will oversee all marketing initiatives for the ongoing successful commercialization of Dojolvi and Mepsevii in the US market.
• The Director will spearhead the creation and implementation of top-tier annual marketing plans that encompass market conditioning and development, disease education, brand strategies, and tactical plans, leveraging extensive marketing expertise and previous success in metabolic rare disease and biopharmaceutical marketing.
• Collaborate closely with the Marketing Lead and National Field Director to drive US marketing initiatives, track the progress of these initiatives, and make necessary adjustments to optimize patient access and key customer engagement.
• The Director is accountable for providing marketing leadership as well as mentoring and developing the marketing team.
• Oversee the development of annual brand plans and associated budgets, ensuring effective execution against these plans and budgets while managing daily brand budgets, and guaranteeing timely delivery within budget for all marketing initiatives.
• Work in partnership with the Global Brand Strategy group to ensure smooth two-way communication and alignment of US strategies with global brand plans.
• For all initiatives, when feasible, establish methods to measure impact, report outcomes, and adjust plans as needed.
• Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships across functions within the organization.
• Identify potential issues that may hinder patient flow/access and propose solutions.
• Lead the organization with a patient-centered approach, demonstrating respect for all customers and stakeholders.
• Manage all US brand promotional activities in accordance with corporate and industry ethical standards and compliance guidelines.
• A BA/BS degree or an equivalent life sciences qualification is required; an MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of 10-12 years of sales and marketing experience in the biopharmaceutical sector, with at least 5 years focused on rare or ultra-rare diseases; experience with Metabolic Genetics is highly desirable. Direct sales experience is strongly preferred.
• Successful candidates will demonstrate a proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary team framework, exhibiting a high degree of collaboration, a strong patient focus, and an understanding of U.S. patient access challenges.
• Strong proficiency in analytical and market research techniques, with a demonstrated ability to interpret market insights to inform strategic direction and prioritize tactics.
• Proven capability to think strategically and act creatively to develop and lead innovative brand strategies and tactics.
• Demonstrated experience in working with and managing external partners, including advertising and communications agencies.
• Proven ability to apply rigorous logic and methods to solve complex problems with effective solutions.
• Strong business acumen combined with solid scientific knowledge is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and negotiate business solutions in a complex and fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence stakeholders to set direction, align efforts, and ensure flawless execution; proven teamwork and collaboration skills are required.
• Excellent skills in public presentation, written communication, and active listening.
• This position requires a minimum of 30% travel within the US.
