This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
• Oversee American Forests' initiatives to promote tree equity throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
• Cultivate and sustain effective partnerships with local governments, councils, and community organizations.
• Seek out and secure public and private funding opportunities.
• Act as the regional authority for American Forests on urban forestry and related matters.
• Formulate and execute a regional strategy with clear, quantifiable annual objectives.
• Manage relationships and spearhead American Forests' projects within the region.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in urban forestry within the Pacific Northwest.
• Established connections with municipal and state agencies.
• ISA Certified Arborist and/or Certified Urban Forest Professional preferred.
• Degree in urban forestry, urban planning, landscape architecture, environmental science, or a related discipline.
• In-depth understanding of urban forest planning, canopy assessment, and strategies for equitable, community-driven urban forestry.
• Advanced familiarity with American Forests’ tree equity tools and resources.
• Proven experience collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Capability to navigate municipal systems and their priorities.
