This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
• Oversee the strategy of American Forests to promote tree equity throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
• Establish and nurture effective working relationships with municipalities, councils, state agencies, local federal partners, and community organizations.
• Connect partners with the tools and expertise offered by American Forests.
• Provide hands-on technical assistance to aid cities and states in prioritizing, planting, managing, and safeguarding urban trees.
• Assist municipalities and partners in the adoption of American Forests' tools and resources.
• Identify and seek out public and private funding opportunities.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in urban forestry within the Pacific Northwest.
• Established connections with municipal and state agencies.
• ISA Certified Arborist and/or Certified Urban Forest Professional is preferred.
• A degree in urban forestry, urban planning, landscape architecture, environmental science, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of urban forest planning, canopy assessment, and strategies for equitable community-based urban forestry.
• Advanced knowledge of the tree equity tools and resources provided by American Forests.
• Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and leading partnerships.
• Proven experience in developing and managing complex projects in a remote setting.
