Director, Underwriting – Client Services, P&C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversees, leads, and manages underwriting and service operations that provide outsourced insurance solutions for various carrier partners across both commercial and personal lines of business.

• Delivers strategic and operational guidance to underwriting and call center teams, emphasizing underwriting excellence, profitability, and precision in execution.

• Accountable for managing relationships with carriers, overseeing operational performance, and ensuring financial outcomes, which includes responsibility for P&L performance, underwriting quality, and meeting contractual service standards.

• Directs and effectively manages all components of underwriting and call center operations to achieve established benchmarks.

• Cultivates and sustains positive, professional, and constructive relationships with carrier partners.

• Provides coaching and regular feedback to direct reports for effective supervision, addressing team member issues including performance, discipline, separation, and timely completion of 30-60-90 Annual performance evaluations.

• Maintains accountability for operational P&L performance, focusing on expense management, optimizing productivity, achieving revenue goals, and implementing margin improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• Over ten (10) years of experience in leading insurance service operations supporting multiple lines or carriers; or a relevant combination of education and experience.

• Must possess current and active 2-20 and 4-40 licenses or have the capability to obtain them within the timeframe specified by the company.

• Preferred designations include CPCU, AU, CIC, and/or CPIA.
