• Develop, scale, and oversee a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient transportation program that aligns with PACE program objectives and meets participant requirements, encompassing the creation of a transportation model, management of transportation software, oversight of daily operations, and vendor management.
• Monitor essential performance indicators, such as on-time performance and utilization rates. Strive for continuous improvement in service delivery. Ensure punctual and effective transportation for participants traveling to and from PACE centers, medical appointments, and community services.
• Supervise daily transportation functions, including scheduling, routing, and dispatch. Enhance routing and scheduling to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Administer transportation contracts and internal fleet management, which includes vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and lifecycle planning. Provide leadership, mentorship, and management for transportation staff.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and licensing requirements mandated by all regulatory agencies, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), state health departments, and the Department of Transportation (DOT).
• Oversee the Transportation Department budget, keeping track of expenses and identifying areas for improvement.
• Assess vendor contracts and negotiate agreements with third-party transportation providers as necessary.
• May necessitate occasional availability during evenings, weekends, or on-call situations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• 5–8+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations.
• 3–5+ years in a leadership position.
• Experience in healthcare, senior services, or PACE programs is highly preferred.
• Proficient understanding of transportation management systems and routing software.
• Familiarity with CMS and DOT regulations.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
