This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Lead, recruit, train, motivate, and foster accountability within the Thought Leader Liaison team.
• Ensure that speakers receive proper training, coaching, and oversight to align with brand standards.
• Participate in national congress-related engagement activities, including supporting and assessing ongoing Thought Leader strategies and tactics.
• Maintain a culture of compliance for the regional Thought Leader Strategy team.
• Develop, implement, and uphold accountability for interactions and feedback with national and regional oncology hematology external experts (MD, APP, PharmD, Nurse) for the Thought Leader Liaison team.
• Ensure that the insights of external experts are consistently communicated and considered by leadership and the Integrated Brand Teams.
• Oversee the planning and execution of marketing consultancy agreements.
• Guide the Thought Leader Liaison team in identifying and cultivating thought leaders to continuously expand our thought leader base for both the franchise and the brands.
• Collaborate with brand teams to develop and execute national and regional advisory boards.
• Work alongside brand marketing and the Director of Thought Leader Liaisons to enhance, implement, and measure the AbbVie US Oncology External Expert Engagement strategy.
• Formulate regional strategies in conjunction with cross-functional partners.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including but not limited to sales, marketing, medical affairs, legal, compliance, and managed care.
• Cultivate and promote collaboration with commercialization partners.
• Participate as necessary in cross-functional or other project teams and support the brand team and overall franchise.
• A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Prior experience in developing productive insight collection activities with top-tier External Experts in Multiple Myeloma is essential.
• A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience is preferred.
• Experience in marketing/training is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability and history of constructing a successful comprehensive External Expert strategy across the business unit.
• Extensive hematology experience is required, with proven expertise in academic environments.
• At least 5 years of direct experience with strong existing relationships with oncology thought leaders (physicians and nurses), along with proven access to academic and key institutions.
• Exceptional skills in presentation, interpersonal communication, collaboration, and data discussion.
• A proven history of consistently meeting or surpassing qualitative and/or quantitative targets.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial issues related to highly competitive oncology therapeutic areas is preferred.
• Regular business travel, either by air or car, is required.
