Director, Third-Party Procurement – Merchandising

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the strategy, performance, and operational model for the entire 3P procurement organization.

• Responsible for the financial outcomes of the 3P business, which includes forecast precision, ISR, shrink, shorts, cost of goods, and inventory turnover.

• Develop and implement long-term procurement and merchandising strategies for 3P.

• Lead and mentor a team comprising managers, senior individual contributors, and associates.

• Establish and manage the vendor portfolio, covering partner selection, negotiation frameworks, contract structures, performance management, and long-term collaboration models.

• Propel category strategy across the 3P assortment by balancing market trends, customer requirements, profitability, and competitive positioning.

• Act as the main point of accountability for 3P integration throughout the organization.

• Define the analytical frameworks, KPIs, and reporting standards that will guide the 3P business.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in procurement, category management, inventory planning, and/or wholesale merchandising, including a minimum of 3 years leading cross-functional teams.

• Proven track record of managing P&L-related KPIs (GMV, margin, forecast accuracy, ISR, shrink, shorts, cost of goods).

• Established vendor relationships within the food sector; experience in produce, grocery, or perishable supply chains is highly preferred.

• Experience in ecommerce and digital platforms is preferred.

• Proven experience in leading vendor negotiations, contract structuring, and supplier performance management at scale.

• History of spearheading large-scale cross-functional initiatives across Quality, Operations, Product, and Engineering.

• Bachelor’s Degree is required; an advanced degree (MBA) or supply chain/procurement certifications are advantageous.
