Director, Technical Project Management – R&D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, oversee, mentor, and nurture a team of technical Project Managers.

• Establish standards for excellence in Project Management.

• Enhance team competencies through training, knowledge exchange, and cross-program learning opportunities.

• Cultivate a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team environment.

• Offer clear guidance and feedback, aiding in individual development plans and career advancement.

• Collaborate with Program Managers and functional leaders to ensure technical Project Managers create and uphold effective integrated plans.

• Guarantee timely and accurate visibility into deliverables, risks, issues, assumptions, and variances.

• Contribute to strategic planning efforts, providing insights into program performance, resource utilization, and potential implications for new opportunities and R&D initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline; an advanced degree and/or PMP certification is highly preferred.

• Over 12 years of pertinent experience in biopharma, vaccine, biologics, or pharmaceuticals.

• Proven track record in leading, coaching, and developing Project Managers.

• Comprehensive understanding of vaccine/biologic development across nonclinical, clinical, regulatory, and CMC areas.

• Prior experience with programs funded by U.S. Government entities, global health organizations, foundations, and/or non-profit sponsors is preferred.

• Strong financial acumen, including program budgeting, forecasting, and accruals.

• Advanced skills in MS Project and Smartsheet tools.

• Exceptional people leadership, communication, facilitation, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% both domestically and internationally with prior notice.
