This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
• Create and implement strategic sourcing strategies across categories such as automation, robotics, conveyor systems, controls, software, installation, and engineered systems.
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key OEMs, integrators, subcontractors, and technology providers.
• Oversee vendor management activities, including supplier qualification, onboarding, segmentation, scorecards, and initiatives for performance enhancement.
• Conduct regular Business Reviews and executive supplier evaluations to assess operational effectiveness, strategic fit, future prospects, and risk management.
• Develop and manage supplier scorecards that track delivery, quality, responsiveness, engineering support, safety, warranty performance, and commissioning assistance.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial contracts, milestone payment arrangements, service agreements, warranties, and other essential commercial terms.
• Assist pre-sales, estimating, and project execution teams by verifying supplier capabilities, timelines, pricing, and operational risks.
• Identify and address supply chain risks associated with lead times, tariffs, capacity limitations, labor availability, financial robustness, and technological readiness.
• Formulate preferred supplier programs and sourcing strategies that enhance operational consistency, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Keep abreast of market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging automation technologies to bolster organizational growth and competitive advantage.
• Willingness to travel 15 – 20% as needed for supplier visits, project assistance, factory inspections, business reviews, and industry events.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or vendor management.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in warehouse automation, material handling, industrial automation, systems integration, manufacturing, or similar sectors.
• Proven experience in negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships.
• Strong knowledge of automation project lifecycles, including engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and support during startup.
• Experience in managing supplier performance initiatives and vendor scorecards.
• Solid financial and commercial insight, including pricing analysis, margin implications, and risk management.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
• ** Preferred Qualifications **
• Background in robotic warehouse automation or systems integration environments.
• Certifications such as PMP, CPSM, CPM, or similar are preferred.
• Experience overseeing global suppliers and managing complex project-based sourcing scenarios.
• Knowledge of contract stipulations, liquidated damages, and project-based commercial frameworks.
