This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the product marketing strategy and orchestrate GTM across PMI's comprehensive portfolio.
• Transform market insights, product strategies, research findings, practitioner understanding, and operational readiness into clear portfolio positioning, integrated GTM plans, market education, and quantifiable commercial results.
• Ensure that PMI's products are perceived as a cohesive suite of capabilities that cater to professionals, organizations, partners, and the future landscape of the project management profession.
• Operate at a strategic level with executives, engage at the ground level with launch teams, and provide coaching to a team that includes junior Product Marketing Manager (PMM) talent and Go To Market (GTM) operational capabilities.
• Create and sustain a portfolio-level point of view across PMI's product ecosystem.
• Manage the product marketing operating model that dictates the distribution of GTM strategy, PMM capacity, and readiness work across PMI's portfolio.
• Lead the strategic product marketing initiatives behind launches, campaigns, lifecycle moments, and portfolio priorities.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a four-person team spanning product marketing and GTM operations.
• Collaborate with content marketing to influence how PMI leverages research, thought leadership, practitioner insights, community knowledge, customer proof, and cultural or regulatory events to enhance product positioning and GTM priorities.
• Own the GTM operating system that translates portfolio strategy into actionable market delivery.
• Assist PMI in becoming a more prominent and credible voice in the market regarding the future of the profession.
• Oversee GTM strategy for new products, significant product updates, lifecycle moments, and portfolio-level campaigns.
• Establish a disciplined approach to competitive intelligence and market sensing by gathering insights from customers, sales teams, regions, press, forums, communities, partners, research, and competitive offerings.
• 8–12+ years of experience in product marketing, portfolio marketing, product management, or related strategic marketing roles.
• Proven experience in leading or directly managing marketing professionals, particularly including junior or developing team members.
• Strong understanding of the project management discipline and profession, or significant experience in an adjacent professional certification, education, workforce, SaaS, learning, or knowledge-platform business.
• Demonstrated ability to craft positioning and messaging for complex product portfolios, beyond just individual launches.
• Experience in converting research, thought leadership, customer insights, and market signals into product positioning, GTM strategies, sales narratives, and campaign briefs.
• Familiarity with building product marketing and GTM systems for complex portfolios, including launch tiering, readiness planning, stakeholder alignment, and post-launch optimization.
• Capability to connect strategic positioning with operational execution, ensuring that GTM commitments are supported by web, commerce, delivery, enablement, content, and customer-facing readiness.
• Comfort in navigating operationally complex product environments where delivery partners, web/product detail pages, certification or assessment requirements, commerce flows, and regional execution influence market success.
• Experience in developing integrated marketing plans that encompass web, email/CRM, content, PR/comms, sales enablement, community, paid media, partner marketing, and regional activation.
• Background in supporting multiple sales or distribution channels, such as DTC retail, direct sales, online commerce, partner channels, B2B, or distribution.
• Ability to function effectively in a global organization with diverse stakeholders across various regions, functions, and time zones.
• Exceptional executive communication skills, including the capability to simplify complexity, justify strategic decisions, and align stakeholders prior to execution.
• Strong writing skills, encompassing messaging, briefs, sales narratives, web content, launch materials, and executive-ready recommendations.
• Portfolio perspective: Ability to recognize how products connect, overlap, compete, sequence, and contribute to a stronger market narrative.
• PMM system-building: Skill in creating clearer briefs, launch standards, GTM playbooks, readiness processes, and repeatable workflows, rather than solely executing individual launches.
• Market education mindset: Ability to shape understanding, shift audience perceptions, and articulate the importance of PMI’s products and capabilities in the present context.
• Content-aware positioning: Capacity to leverage research, thought leadership, community insights, customer proof, and practitioner expertise to enhance product positioning and GTM strategies.
• Roadmap influence: Skill in relaying market signals back to product teams and identifying what should be developed, clarified, packaged, prioritized, or retired.
• Executive translation: Ability to convey complex portfolio strategies clearly to executives, product leaders, sales teams, partners, regional stakeholders, and external audiences.
• Cross-functional leadership: Competence in aligning teams across product, marketing, content, creative, web, sales, delivery, partner, and regional functions before execution begins.
• Operational judgment: Capacity to manage competing priorities, dependencies, timelines, and launch complexities while retaining strategic focus.
