Director, Strategic Initiatives – Enterprise Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the long-term strategy for enterprise finance initiatives, ensuring it aligns with corporate strategy and financial goals.

• Create governance frameworks, operational rhythms, and success metrics for all strategic programs.

• Act as a strategic consultant to senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations that influence enterprise decisions.

• Design and track KPIs to evaluate the progress and success of transformation initiatives.

• Lead intricate, cross-functional programs including ERP modernization, process reengineering, and finance transformation efforts.

• Ensure accountability for milestones and results across various workstreams.

• Manage risk, resolve issues, and provide executive-level reporting.

• Implement change management strategies to facilitate successful execution and adoption of transformation initiatives.

• Counsel senior leaders on comprehensive transformation strategies that target critical areas for improvement.

• Liaise with transformation teams regarding potential risks, obstacles, and challenges that may impede progress.

• Foster a transformative culture that promotes experimentation, adaptability, and a readiness to question the status quo.

• Collaborate with senior leaders from Finance, HR, DDAT (Digital, Data, Analytics, Technology), and other departments to ensure alignment and support of strategic initiatives.

• Influence decision-making through persuasive business cases, data-driven insights, and executive presentations.

• Build robust relationships across the enterprise to enhance collaboration and expedite change.

• Mentor and develop internal teams in best practices for advisory and consulting, including strategic analysis, business case development, and change management.

• Develop frameworks, playbooks, and training programs to enhance internal consulting capabilities.

• Advocate for a culture of continuous learning and professional development within Enterprise Finance.

• Promote the use of automation, AI, advanced analytics, and digital solutions to improve financial processes and decision-making.

• Recognize emerging trends and convert them into actionable strategies for CVS Health.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in strategic initiatives, finance transformation, or internal consulting within large, matrixed organizations.

• Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise-level programs and influence senior executives.

• Proven skills in execution and delivery, business intelligence, collaboration, and teamwork.

• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and growth mindset capabilities.

• Extensive finance knowledge with the ability to connect insights to enterprise strategy.

• Proficient in program management methodologies and tools (Agile, Waterfall, Smartsheet, MS Project).

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
