
Director, Specialty Field Medical – Strategy and Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Drive strategic and operational excellence for the Field Medical team.
• Provide support to the Field Medical team through various field initiatives, capability enhancements, project planning, and the development of internal process frameworks and field systems/operations.
• Collaborate with field medical leadership to formulate strategies aimed at achieving organizational excellence.
• Establish essential frameworks and operational components for key initiatives, including FMEP, addressing medical unmet needs, and congress frameworks.
• Identify the medical capability needs and implement solutions to improve skills and competencies.
• Deliver training on field medical systems and digital tools, such as GenAI tools, Veeva CRM, and Power BI.
• Assess and refine processes, integrating innovations and technologies for field medical teams.
• Manage dashboards, analytical tools, and Veeva CRM systems to evaluate customer interactions, monitor goals, and enhance performance coaching.
• Oversee the operational execution of Field Medical Plans while ensuring alignment with scientific exchange policies and procedures.
• Act as the first point of escalation for field leadership, communicating governance and compliance matters.
• Assist in audit and monitoring activities for Field Medical.
• Collaborate with US Medical Affairs Leads, Medical Directors, MSL Directors, and Directors of Medical Communication and Scientific Training.
• Support the budgeting process for key field activities.
• MS, RN, PharmD, PhD, or an equivalent post-graduate degree, MBA, or comparable experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including field-based experience in Medical Affairs.
• Candidates must be US-based for consideration.
• Proven experience in leading significant change initiatives with advanced project management skills.
• Preference for candidates with pharmaceutical industry field-based medical experience.
• Capability to prioritize business needs and adjust accordingly when necessary.
• Strong communication, influence, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in a matrix environment with senior management.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and business acumen skills.
• Advanced project management expertise; capable of managing multiple large projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously.
• Familiarity with, or the ability to quickly learn, GSK policies, medical guidance, and operational documents.
• Proven track record of consistent performance.
• Willingness to travel 15 to 20% of the time.
