This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +8 more states.
• Revamp the Authoring Services operational framework to enhance agility, scalability, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
• Transition operational management from a reactive approach to a proactive, data-informed decision-making process.
• Create operational transparency through metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators that detect emerging risks before they affect customers.
• Advocate for the advancement of service delivery through automation, AI-driven workflows, and ongoing process enhancement initiatives.
• Oversee global On-Demand Authoring operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets contractual obligations and customer expectations.
• Propel quantifiable improvements in timely delivery, backlog management, customer satisfaction, quality performance, and operational efficiency.
• Manage the balance of dynamic supply and demand across global resources, proactively addressing changes in workload and customer needs.
• Establish stronger operational controls, governance, and prioritization processes to enhance throughput and minimize service delays.
• Collaborate closely with Account Management and Customer Success teams to identify and mitigate customer risks earlier in the lifecycle.
• Develop stronger communication pathways between delivery and commercial teams to proactively manage customer expectations and reduce renewal risks.
• Engage in strategic customer discussions, onboarding processes, and service planning initiatives as appropriate.
• Work alongside Sales, Product, Pricing, and Delivery stakeholders to foster growth, retention, and service innovation.
• Mentor, coach, and develop a team of Authoring Project Managers and operational leaders within a globally distributed framework.
• Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
• Empower leaders to make decisions, resolve issues, and achieve results while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Create an environment where teams actively pinpoint friction points, propose ideas, and contribute to operational enhancements.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and profitability initiatives.
• Leverage operational and financial data to optimize resource allocation and enhance business results.
• Establish KPIs that link service performance, customer experience, operational efficiency, and commercial outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnical Science, or a related discipline.
• Over 8 years of experience in SDS authoring, chemical regulatory consulting, product stewardship, or a related area, including more than 7 years in leadership roles managing global teams and developing future leaders.
• Comprehensive knowledge of global regulatory frameworks, including GHS, OSHA, ADR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG.
• Proven experience leading global SDS authoring operations, managing high-volume workloads, balancing resource availability and customer demand, and providing services across multiple regions.
• Familiarity with SDS authoring platforms such as SAP, MSDgen, WERCS, ProSteward, or equivalent systems.
• Track record of successfully driving operational enhancements, organizational change, and large-scale regulatory or customer-focused projects.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize data and metrics to identify trends, address issues, enhance performance, and inform business decisions.
• Experience in developing and mentoring SDS Authors and team leaders in a fast-paced service environment.
• Strong business insight, including experience in budget management, operational performance, and service delivery metrics.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to navigate uncertainty and drive results in a fast-changing, dynamic environment.
