This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Develop and uphold detailed, cross-functional launch readiness plans to ensure collaboration among clinical, regulatory, commercial, medical affairs, supply chain, and market access teams.
• Create launch governance frameworks, encompassing escalation pathways, decision-making guidelines, and communication models for stakeholders.
• Oversee the creation and execution of end-to-end launch timelines, proactively pinpointing critical path dependencies and mitigating risks to guarantee timely and successful product launches.
• Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of launch readiness tools, which include integrated launch plans, risk registers, dashboards, and collaboration platforms.
• Drive the preparation and execution of Launch Readiness Reviews (LRRs), ensuring that readiness criteria are well-defined, measurable, and uniformly applied across programs.
• Facilitate meetings among cross-functional teams, ensuring clear agendas, actionable outcomes, accountability tracking, and efficient issue resolution.
• Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to align launch strategies, adapting global plans to meet regional market requirements.
• Monitor and report on critical launch performance indicators (KPIs), delivering actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage risks and opportunities, leading the development of mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
• Partner with commercial teams to guarantee readiness across key areas, including pricing, reimbursement, market access, distribution, and patient services.
• Act as a vital liaison between regional teams, program teams, and executive stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Lead post-launch evaluations and capture lessons learned to continuously enhance launch excellence capabilities.
• Collaborate with fellow Regional Program Managers in LATAM and EMEA to exchange ideas, strategies, and information.
• Work with the Program Core Team Program Manager, Program Team Leader, and Program Core team to ensure alignment of strategies and execution.
• Manage post-launch commercial and medical affairs operations in collaboration with Global and Regional teams.
• Fluency in Japanese (both written and spoken) is mandatory, along with a solid understanding of Japanese culture and business practices. Proficient English communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration with global stakeholders.
• The position is based in Japan, specifically in the Tokyo area.
• An advanced degree is required, along with a minimum of 15 years of industry experience.
• At least 8-10 years of equivalent multi- and cross-functional leadership experience in product commercialization is necessary.
• Advanced knowledge of science and clinical aspects. Experience in the fields of genetic and rare diseases is preferred.
• Strong skills in enhancing cross-functional teamwork and relationships.
• Prior work and leadership experience in international and multidisciplinary commercial teams is essential.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial functions, business strategy, and business requirements is required.
• Exceptional Project Management skills, including proficiency in designing, developing, and managing project schedules and resource allocation.
• Ability to critically and objectively analyze and assess scientific and competitive, business-related information.
• Should exercise considerable discretion in determining objectives and approaches that are vital to the program/organization, requiring minimal strategic direction from the Vice President.
• Strong leadership capabilities are a must.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills for bridging scientific and business participants, negotiating timelines, and facilitating effective collaboration with internal and external executive-level management.
