This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
β’ Take ownership of the complete reconciliation and money movement domain, which encompasses ledgering logic, payout processes, and exception management.
β’ Gain a comprehensive understanding of fund movement within the existing system β identifying data sources, transformation processes, breakpoints, and the underlying reasons.
β’ Transform an existing system, heavily reliant on tribal knowledge, into a clear, maintainable, and auditable operational model through thorough documentation.
β’ Guide the architectural strategy for a long-term resolution to the post-capture payout calculation challenge, ensuring alignment with both Finance and Engineering departments.
β’ Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement scalable, precise, and resilient reconciliation and ledgering systems.
β’ Act as the primary liaison between Finance and Engineering, ensuring both parties comprehend requirements, constraints, and potential impacts.
β’ Establish product requirements, roadmap, and success metrics for reconciliation and money movement systems.
β’ Analyze root causes of reconciliation discrepancies and facilitate cross-functional solutions.
β’ Develop processes, controls, and reporting frameworks that enhance accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness.
β’ Provide leadership, clarity, and direction in a domain characterized by high levels of ambiguity and complexity.
β’ Director-level experience in financial systems, payments technology, or a related field.
β’ Strong background in accounting and finance β capable of comprehending ledgers, settlement flows, and reconciliation logic.
β’ In-depth knowledge of the movement of money through technical systems (capture β settlement β payout β ledgering).
β’ Experience in designing or owning the architecture of financial or payment systems.
β’ Proficient in diagnosing system-level issues, pinpointing failure points, and guiding engineering teams towards sustainable solutions.
β’ Excellent communication skills β able to credibly engage with both Finance and Engineering and facilitate translation between the two.
β’ Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives characterized by high ambiguity and significant business impact.
β’ Strong documentation practices and the ability to convert tribal knowledge into structured, repeatable processes.
β’ Nice-to-Have Skills
β’ Experience with payout systems, settlement engines, or payment processors.
β’ Background in developing or modernizing ledgering systems.
β’ Familiarity with financial compliance, audit requirements, or SOX-related controls.
β’ Product management experience in financial or payments platforms.
