Director R&D Operational Excellence, Performance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute a comprehensive framework for R&D performance.

• Create transparent tracking mechanisms for deliverables, milestones, timelines, costs, and quality metrics.

• Oversee portfolio execution performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

• Conduct structured diagnostics of R&D processes and spearhead end-to-end process re-engineering initiatives.

• Propel continuous improvement efforts across R&D utilizing Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies for operational excellence.

• Design, standardize, and enhance end-to-end R&D processes across CMC, Clinical, Regulatory, and other departments.

• Offer insights and suggestions regarding R&D operating models and governance frameworks.

• Champion change management initiatives associated with transformation programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree in life sciences; a background in biotechnology is advantageous.

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is required.

• Project Management certification is highly desirable.

• Over 10 years of experience in biopharma or biotech R&D, with cross-functional exposure (CMC, Clinical, Regulatory, or PM).

• Demonstrated experience in operational excellence, performance management, or transformation roles within R&D settings.

• Proven ability to implement KPIs, dashboards, and frameworks for performance governance.

• Experience in process optimization and enhancing end-to-end value streams.

• Familiarity with the drug development lifecycle and relevant regulatory requirements.

• Proficient in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
