Director, Quality Assurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain the DSO's comprehensive quality assurance program and clinical quality benchmarks.

• Implement standardized quality metrics, audits, scorecards, and reporting systems across dental practices.

• Conduct and supervise clinical and operational quality audits, including chart assessments, documentation evaluations, infection control, radiographic practices, and patient safety.

• Analyze clinical and operational data to pinpoint trends, gaps, root causes, and areas for improvement.

• Formulate and oversee corrective and preventive action plans alongside dental directors, dentists, hygienists, practice managers, and clinical leaders.

• Ensure compliance of dental offices with regulations concerning biomedical waste, OSHA, radiation, and other relevant standards.

• Participate in weekly meetings concerning new and acquired Sage offices to guarantee adherence to clinical standards and regulations.

• Assist in regulatory inspections, external audits, and accreditation processes.

• Investigate and address quality-of-care issues, patient complaints, adverse events, and clinical incidents.

• Create executive-level quality dashboards, reports, and KPIs.

• Present findings and recommendations related to quality to senior leadership and clinical governance committees.

• Assess the effectiveness and return on investment of quality improvement initiatives.

• Conduct Clinical Compliance Meetings quarterly or as necessary with Compliance and Legal Operations.

• Coordinate cross-functional quality initiatives across Operations, Clinical, Compliance, Risk Management, IT, and other departments.

• Mentor and coach regional and practice-level leaders on quality standards and improvement methodologies.

• Facilitate quality-related training for clinical and operational teams.

• Act as a subject-matter expert in dental quality assurance and patient safety.

• Foster relationships with clinical and operational leaders to influence practice behavior through education, data, collaboration, and accountability.

• Supervise the Patient Quality Assurance team to ensure thorough resolution of patient-related issues.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Quality Management, or a related discipline.

• 5–8+ years of experience in healthcare quality, dental quality assurance, clinical operations, compliance, or a related area.

• Experience in a dental practice, dental group, DSO, healthcare system, or multi-site clinical environment is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in developing or managing quality assurance, quality improvement, audit, or compliance programs.

• Strong grasp of dental clinical workflows, documentation standards, patient safety, and infection prevention.

• Experience in analyzing quality metrics and converting data into actionable improvement strategies.

• Capability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.

• Willingness to travel to dental practices as required.

• Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Quality Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with DSO operations and multi-state dental regulations is a plus.

• Certifications such as CPHQ, CHC, or Lean/Six Sigma are preferred.

• Experience with electronic dental/health records and quality reporting systems is advantageous.

• Background in root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
