Director – Projects, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Supervise project implementation and execution from the initial stages of construction through to completion, including pre-construction, groundbreaking, and final delivery.

• Develop and oversee detailed project budgets, monthly forecasts, cash flow analysis, and projected cost reports.

• Negotiate contracts with team members and vendors, while managing contracted consultants, vendors, and external partners.

• Maintain communication with architects, client staff, property managers, and vendors, ensuring effective client relationships and conflict resolution.

• Provide on-site oversight to guarantee that project performance criteria are met, while also identifying potential liabilities and risks.

• Lead capital improvement initiatives and asset preservation programs across multiple locations.

• Train and cultivate JLL project team members on organizational procedures, methodologies, and practices.

• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities and promoting products and services across various business units.

• Manage and mentor a team of four or more professionals.

• Make independent decisions related to operational procedures.

• Act as the primary relationship manager for strategic alliance clients and oversee multiple high-value Data Center projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with executive-level external and internal clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.

• Highly organized with robust analytical skills and the capacity to regularly communicate analyzed data to clients and teams to meet project objectives.

• Proven experience in managing several medium to large-scale ground-up development projects, major redevelopment projects, and corporate interior projects.

• Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, scheduling, and processes related to corporate real estate.

• Proficient in the use and application of all PDS technology as required for assigned projects.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.

• Previous experience in effectively supervising, training, mentoring, and evaluating several project managers at various levels within the organization or team.

• High energy for the business, with the ability to inspire others and a readiness to take risks and make challenging decisions.

• Experience serving as the lead relationship manager for strategic alliance clients or as a key resource for multiple client teams.

• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of Data Centers and MEP infrastructure associated with Data Center construction and operations.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
