Director, Project Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development and execution of capital projects within a network of regional bakeries.

• Manage annual capital expenditure budgets amounting to several million dollars.

• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to effectively prioritize and allocate resources for projects.

• Ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within the allocated budget, and adhere to food safety and regulatory standards.

• Guide external engineering firms, contractors, and OEMs throughout the FEL/FEED and execution phases of projects.

• Apply project management best practices, including scope, risk, and change management.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to project engineers and support personnel.

• Foster strong collaboration with bakery leadership teams to reduce operational disruptions during project implementation.

• Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes – Oxley, Safety, etc.).

• Carry out additional responsibilities that are considered essential to the role, including, but not limited to, fulfilling work schedules, complying with attendance policies, and following other relevant operating rules, policies, and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12+ years of experience in managing large capital projects within food manufacturing or industrial bakery operations.

• A Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent qualification is preferred.

• Proven expertise in project controls, cost management, and scheduling.

• Strong skills in vendor and contractor management.

• Knowledge of food safety regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental compliance.

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including occasional overnight travel as needed.
