This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define the strategic vision for Marqeta’s core platform and production support experience, directly impacting over $300B in annual TPV flowing through our systems.
• Advocate for a product vision that enhances platform scalability, operational excellence, and long-term customer trust within our ecosystem.
• Design "Operating Models" tailored for medium-scale engineering organizations.
• Facilitate faster and more confident company operations by developing resilient systems, intuitive tools, and clear operating models across product and support.
• Foster alignment between customer requirements, operational realities, and long-term product investments—ensuring Marqeta is well-positioned to excel in a dynamic payments landscape.
• Achieve measurable enhancements in customer satisfaction and retention by integrating support insights into product planning and prioritization.
• Ensure Marqeta remains ahead of regulatory, network, and market changes by transforming external signals into internal advantages through strategic product initiatives.
• Serve as a vital voice in linking platform capabilities with customer outcomes—ensuring every roadmap decision has a substantial impact.
• Develop and mentor a senior product organization that excels in cross-functional leadership, systemic thinking, and operational rigor.
• Generate an executive-friendly overview of production health, product performance, and platform risk—transforming complexity into clarity for decision-makers.
• Over 10 years of experience in product management leadership, particularly within payments, fintech, or SaaS platforms.
• Demonstrated success in establishing vision and strategy for a product portfolio and translating it into a roadmap with meticulous end-to-end execution.
• High emotional intelligence and leadership capabilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing diverse, high-performing teams.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to business audiences and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• Comprehensive understanding of the payment industry ecosystem, including card brand regulations, ISO 8583, EMV, digital wallets, gateway services, and security services.
• Strong technical knowledge with familiarity in APIs, cloud services, distributed systems, and modern production support practices (observability, incident management, SLAs/SLOs).
• Skilled in identifying key metrics, analyzing data, and balancing quantitative and qualitative information for decision-making.
• Excellent technical acumen, curiosity, and familiarity with new technologies, APIs, programming languages, and databases.
• A proactive approach to ensuring the success of your products and team, focusing on root causes, assigning ownership, and driving accountability to achieve results.
