
Director, Product Line Management – Waveserver

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Establish and guide the product strategy, roadmap direction, and investment priorities for Waveserver.
• Convert customer, sales, and market needs into product requirements, release priorities, and lifecycle strategies.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among engineering, marketing, supply chain, procurement, services, and sales throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead customer interactions, roadmap discussions, RFP/RFQ responses, offer defense initiatives, and product trials.
• Create business cases for features, hardware, software releases, pricing strategies, cost optimization efforts, and investment choices.
• Oversee product line performance via revenue planning, volume forecasting, margin enhancement, competitive positioning, and lifecycle profitability.
• Keep track of market trends in optical networking, coherent technologies, DCI, hyperscale networking, encryption, automation, open APIs, fiber sensing, and high-capacity aggregation applications.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, networking, communications systems, or relevant practical experience.
• Over 10 years of pertinent industry experience, including a minimum of 5 years in product line management or a similar role.
• Knowledge of coherent optical systems, DWDM, OTN, Ethernet services, optical transport architectures, coherent pluggables, platform software, and network management concepts.
• Proven experience in launching new products, developing business cases, and increasing product revenue in a competitive technology landscape.
• Ability to align cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders effectively.
• Proficiency in pricing, forecasting, margin management, competitive analysis, and customer value positioning.
• Experience in communicating with executive audiences and clients.
• Capability to manage complex priorities and make trade-off decisions.
• Willingness to support customer engagements through occasional travel.
• Preferred: MBA or equivalent business leadership experience.
• Preferred: Experience with hyperscale, cloud, carrier, subsea, government, enterprise, or research and education customer segments.
• Preferred: Knowledge of high-capacity optical transport platforms, compact modular systems, coherent modems, encryption, automation, open management interfaces, or network control software.
• Preferred: Experience collaborating directly with global sales teams, field engineering, customer engineering, procurement, and supply chain organizations.
• Preferred: Experience guiding product decisions through formal product lifecycle, governance, or business decision point processes.
