This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead, nurture, and mentor a high-performing team of Patient Access & Experience field members and reimbursement specialists.
• Cultivate a culture centered around patient care, accountability, collaboration, and excellence in service.
• Assist in workforce planning, territory alignment, resource allocation, and strategies for managing workload.
• Develop and enhance Patient Access & Experience capabilities to accommodate current demands, future portfolio expansion, and evolving patient support frameworks.
• Take ownership of delivering Denali's Patient Access & Experience model through patient-facing support resources.
• Act as a prominent leader in the field, collaborating with team and field partners to assist patients, families, providers, key business initiatives, and complex situations or escalations.
• Set standards and best practices for field-based patient access support involving patients, caregivers, providers, and office personnel.
• Create field engagement strategies, tools, and resources in conjunction with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Track experience trends and pinpoint opportunities for enhancing service quality, consistency, and engagement.
• Work closely with Market Access, Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Legal, Compliance, and Commercial Operations.
• Represent field execution and patient experience viewpoints in cross-functional planning and governance discussions.
• Aid in commercialization planning and future portfolio preparedness by developing field execution strategies and capabilities.
• BS/BA degree required; advanced degree is preferred.
• Generally, 8 or more years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech patient support, patient access, field education, reimbursement, specialty pharmacy, patient & customer experience, or related healthcare roles.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing field-based, patient-facing, or patient support teams.
• Experience in rare diseases, pediatrics, and complex therapies preferred; with a clear passion for patient-centricity and customer experience.
• Proven history of building, leading, and developing high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting patient access, reimbursement, patient services, specialty pharmacy, or similar functions.
• Product launch experience and familiarity with supporting specialty, rare disease, and/or complex therapies preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development skills.
• In-depth knowledge of patient support programs and principles of patient experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. payer systems, including Commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare (Part B and Part D), and the distinction between medical and pharmacy benefit design.
• Ability to identify and address patient access challenges through effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork abilities.
• Capability to leverage customer insights for strategic and operational enhancements.
• Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with practical execution in a fast-paced launch environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel 25-30% of the time.
