Director, Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and spearhead the organization's supply planning process to guarantee product availability while optimizing inventory investment and working capital.

• Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Customer Service, and Supply Chain stakeholders to develop and sustain integrated demand and supply planning processes.

• Oversee inventory levels, safety stock strategies, product availability, and inventory health across all distribution channels.

• Direct inventory planning activities to facilitate product launches, promotions, market expansion, and business continuity.

• Set operational metrics and reporting to assess forecast accuracy, inventory performance, service levels, and supply reliability.

• Recognize and address supply risks through proactive planning, scenario analysis, and contingency strategies.

• Provide strategic oversight for domestic and international logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and third-party logistics providers.

• Initiate projects aimed at enhancing fulfillment efficiency, order accuracy, delivery performance, and customer experience.

• Cultivate relationships with logistics providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and distribution partners.

• Track logistics performance metrics and implement corrective measures to enhance service and reduce costs.

• Create scalable fulfillment processes that support growth across ecommerce, distributor, and retail channels.

• Ensure the efficient movement of products while adhering to relevant transportation and trade regulations.

• Act as the operational lead for import/export compliance activities that support global distribution.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across operational processes, systems, and workflows.

• Promote data-driven decision-making through the analysis of operational performance metrics and trends.

• Mentor and develop personnel in Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory.

• An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or fulfillment leadership is required.

• Experience in managing contract manufacturing partners and suppliers is necessary.

• A proven track record within the medical device industry or another highly regulated sector such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, aerospace, or healthcare technology is essential.

• Demonstrated experience in managing global supply chains, international logistics, and inventory planning functions is required.

• Experience overseeing third-party logistics providers, distribution partners, and transportation networks is necessary.

• Experience in supporting import/export compliance programs and international trade operations is essential.

• Experience leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), demand planning, or integrated business planning processes is required.

• A history of success in enhancing operational performance, inventory management, and customer service levels is essential.

• Experience in supporting global commercial operations and multi-country distribution networks is preferred.
